Hi there, I've noticed you mentioned you've been to Bintan, do you mind sharing which resort did you stay and any other travel tips for staying there? Thank you.
After doing a bit of researching online, my husband and I chose to stay at Banyan Tree Resort and had the most wonderful time there! Our travel agent must have left slip we were there for our anniversary when making the reservation on our behalf because after dinner on the first night, they sent a chocolate cake with a ‘Happy Anniversary’ note over to our villa. We were incredibly grateful of their kind gesture. The staff were very attentive and incredibly friendly!! And the surprises kept coming! After turndown service on our second day, they lined the main room’s floor with tea light candles, complete with scattered rose petals :) It’s little intimate details like this that made our stay all the more enjoyable. Food at the resort was faultless (but a little on the pricey side) and the villa we stayed in looked even better (and larger!) in person than from their glamourised photos on the website. We were both very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Banyan Tree.
As for travel tips, I don’t have much to give but would recommend that you have cash ready on hand to pay for the VISA upon entering Bintan. They don’t accept credit cards. Also, another note worth mentioning, try to sit near the exit on the ferry to avoid waiting in the long line at immigration. I’d also strongly recommend choosing a resort that offers shuttle bus services or private cars that will chauffeur you from the Ferry Terminal to your resort. It’s a much safer option in my opinion.
Bintan is a lovely, relaxing place and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
